Mr. William E. Spies

Mr. William E. Spies, age 75, of Lewiston, passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI.

Visitation from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Mio Church of God; and from 10 A.M. until the time of Funeral Service on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Mio Church of God with Pastor Mike Stadelmayer officiating. Interment at Kittle Cemetery.

Mr. Spies was born on April 16, 1933 in Rochester, MI to Kenneth and Helen (Waite) Spies, and he was raised in Almont, MI. William married Delores on October 1, 1955 in Leonard, MI. He had worked in the Logging and Sawmill Industries for many years until moving to Lewiston in 1979 where he had worked as a logger. William was a member of the Mio Church of God. His pride and joy was restoring tractors and spoiling his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Mr. Spies is survived by his children: Garry (Michelle) Spies of Lewiston, MI; Kim (Mike) Marlowe of Jenison, MI; Gene (Heather) Spies of Lewiston, MI; and Judy Mileski of Clarkston, MI; his brother Richard (Ann) Spies; his sisters: Sharlene (Louis) Hintz and Geraldine (Larry) Kersten; and his 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Delores; his daughter-in-law Tammy Spies; and his grandson Caleb Spies.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ogemaw County Fair.
