William Douglas ""Doug"" Muirhead
Mr. William Douglas Muirhead, age 94, of Curran, MI, passed away Friday, June 20th, 2008 at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at The Mitchell Township Hall, Curran. Interment of ashes will be in Mitchell Township Cemetery, Curran.
Doug was born on January 23, 1914 to the late William & Emma Muirhead.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Oakland County Road Commission, retiring in 1974. He moved to Curran in 1975 from Walled Lake. He enjoyed woodworking with his wife Shirley, supplying many local craft shops with their wares. He also enjoyed hunting and will be remembered as ""The world's greatest Detroit Tigers Fan"".
Surviving are his wife Shirley J. (Conrad) Muirhead; two daughters: Joanne (Jerry) Paul of Shepherd, MI and Sandra (Bob) Andrews of Walled Lake, MI; 5 grandchildren: Brian, Amy, Dawn, Steve and Mark; a brother: Rollie Muirhead of Northville, MI and his special niece: Pattie Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife: Evelyn (Geary) Muirhead, a son: Jerry Muirhead and a brother: Basil Muirhead.
