William W. Eaton Sr.

February 29, 1920 — March 16, 2021

William W. Eaton, age 101 of Mio, Michigan,  passed away at Vitas Healthcare in Lecanto, Florida on Tuesday March 16, 2021.

William was born in Jackson, Michigan on February 29, 1920 to Hansel and Ruby (Jones) Eaton. He served his in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942 - 1943. He moved to Flint, Michigan and worked for GM for several years before going to Cut Rate Auto Parts where he worked until his retirement. William raced hot rods at Auto City Raceway for several years; a pastime which he dearly loved. He also loved being involved with the Veterans.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Edith; and a son Earl Robert Eaton. He is survived by 2 daughters: Lois (Jerry) Grizzle and Prudence (Patrick) Monaghan; 1 son William (Velma) Eaton; 1 daughter-in-law Leona of Texas; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11 AM at the Mio United Methodist Church, Mio, Michigan with Pastor Michelle Forsyth officiating. Interment of ashes along with military honors at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
