Violet M. Wing

Mrs. Violet Marie Wing, 89, of Mio passed away Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, in Newberry, Michigan. Friends are invited to call Sunday 1-3 and 7-9. at Lashley Funeral Home and on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 3PM until the time of services. Funeral Services will be held at the Mio Baptist Church, Mio, Michigan, at 4PM on Monday, April 23rd, with Reverend Glynn McMorris officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Mentor Township Cemetery. Violet was born on October 28, 1917 in Hartwick Township, Michigan. She worked as a homemaker for her husband Ermon ""Red"" Wing and their children. The Wings settled in the Mio area in 1935.Violet was a member of the Mio Baptist Church since 1966. She faithfully served wherever help was needed. She spent much time with her family and with her Lord in Bible study and in prayer. She was an excellent example of a Christian Lady, who also enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, gardening, fishing and board gamesViolet is survived by her daughters: Marilyn (Gerald) Miks of Lake City, Michigan.and Sandra (Mike) Willobee of Mio, Michigan.; her sons: E. Elwin (Jeanette) Wing of Newberry, Michigan., Larry (Rose) Wing of Mt. Morris, Michigan. and her daughter-in-law Anne Wing of Seligman, Arizona.She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by her husband Ermon Wing, her parents Rufus and Bertha Thompson, her son Dale Wing, 1 grandson, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.In her memory, memorial contributions may be made to Mio Baptist Church.These arragements were entrusted to Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan.
