Violet May Neff

Violet M. Neff, age 84 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at Alpena Regional Medical Center on Monday, February 29, 2016.
Violet was born in Fairview, Michigan on May 5, 1931 to Edgar and Marie (Gusler) Hunsberger. She was a graduate of Fairview High School. Violet worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone in Fairview. She also worked as a cook at several camps across Michigan; the Fairview Post Office; and party stores & gas stations in the Fairview area. Violet had enjoyed bowling, “Artex” painting, ceramics, baking, and enjoying her family and friends.
Violet is survived by her children: Dale Neff of Mio, MI; Doreen Thomas of Lachine, MI; Rod Neff of Fairview, MI; and Torrey (Kendra) Neff of Fairview, MI; her sister Gail (Dan) Johns of Palm Bay, FL; her grandchildren: Chas, Catrina, Caleb, Tyler, Kaitlin, Rebecca, Samantha, Kari, John, and Andy; 18 great-grandchildren; and her puppy Layla. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Andrew “Bud” Smith; her second husband Dick Neff; her daughter Candy; her son Rick; and her sisters: Fern, Sally, Shirley, and Betty Jean.
Visitation on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 3 – 8 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and again on Saturday, March 5, 2016 also at Lashley Funeral Home from 12 Noon until Funeral Services at 1 PM with Pastor David Price officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
