Mrs. Vernece Vivian Vallie, age 90, of Mio, passed away Saturday, June 26th, 2010 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community.
Vernece was born on April 5, 1920. She was a long time resident of South Lyon, MI and moved to Mio 30 years ago where she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church Mio, an active member of The Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Council 7329, where she was instrumental in the Tootsie Roll Drive. Vernece was also active in the Council on Aging and The Steiner Museum.
Surviving are her son Frank (Catherine) Vallie, Jr. of Mesa, AZ; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren 1 great great granddaughter and 2 daughters-in-law: Ann Vallie of South Lyon and Fran Vallie of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank, son Michael Vallie, daughter Florence Dunson and son Charles Vallie.
Visitation Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, with prayer service at 7:00 PM followed by Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Rosary,
Vernece will lay in state at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, MI, on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 10 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM with Father Raymond Cotter officiating, cremation to follow with interment of ashes at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio at a later date.
