Vera (Joanne) Blomfield, Sperry, Tobias

Vera (Joanne) Blomfield, Sperry, Tobias, age 84 of Midland, Michigan, formerly of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Tendercare Midland, Midland, Michigan on Tuesday, December 23, 2014.
Vera was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 2, 1930 to Lloyd and Vera P. (Przybylowski) Blomfield. She lived in Detroit, later attended Michigan State University and graduated from Wayne State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Master’s Degree in Literature. She taught in Detroit, Traverse City, Royal Oak, and at Fairview High School. She moved to Midland in 2004 to be near her daughter. She had enjoyed bowling and trap shooting with her husband Vic.
Vera is survived by her daughters: Jan (David) Baumgras of Midland, MI and Sandra (Kenneth) Dyl of Lake Orion, MI; her sister Marilyn Blomfield of Mio, MI; her brother David L. Blomfield of Lakeport, CA; and 4 grandchildren: Anna Baumgras, Gregory Baumgras, Joshua Dyl, and Aubrey Breithaupt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands: John Sperry and Thomas “Vic” Tobias.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 1-4 and 6-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place following the visiting.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
