Timothy Edward Kaminski

Timothy Edward Kaminski passed away on January 9, 2015 at his home in Mio, Michigan at the age of 61. He was born in Detroit, on July 10, 1953, grew up in Warren, and graduated from Centerline High School in 1972.
He moved to Northern Michigan and learned to live off the land. He built a home for his new wife, Nancy Bock Kaminski, using only a handsaw. Tim was an inventive man, filled with curiosity, who loved to tinker with machinery, make boats, miniature cannons, and a plethora of devices. As a history enthusiast, he could talk for hours about current and past global events. He was also a creative carpenter who loved gardening, small farming, and being near the water. He left a lasting affinity for beards with his five sons. Above all though, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, and his five sons, Benjamin with wife Amy (Speed), Jacob with wife Lois (Eicher), Daniel, Timothy with wife Ashley (Woodthorp), Abram, and four grandchildren Nathanael, Savannah, Mackenzie, and Danny. He is also survived by four siblings: Janice Hitzing, Margaret Kolasa, Theresa Williams, and Michael Kaminski. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack C. and Helen “Fran” (Page) Porath as well as his brother Joseph Kaminski and sister Kathleen Kolasa.
Visitation will be on Wednesday January 14th from 12-2pm at Lashley Funeral Home in Mio, Michigan with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM
