Thomas J. Rivet

Thomas J. Rivet, age 71, of Rose City, MI, formerly of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at his home. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday October 2, 2009 from 4-7 PM at The Klacking Creek Township Hall, Campbell Road, Rose City and a 2nd Memorial Gathering on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 1-4 PM at The UAW Local 362 Hall, Wilder Road, Bay City, MI.
Thomas was born on February 23, 1938 in Bay City, Michigan, to Harry and Mabel Rivet. He graduated from T. L. Handy High School and married Joan P. (Adams) Rivet on September 17, 1960 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bay City.
Thomas is survived by his wife Joan; children: Brian (Cindy) Rivet of Grand Blanc, MI; and Jill (Bruce) Stapish of Bay City, MI; sisters: Dorothy Burke and Barbara (Ronald) Bowen, both of Bay City; brother Michael Rivet of Alger, MI; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Austin; brothers-in-law: Tim (Christie) Adams and Ralph (Ruth Ann) Adams, and his sister-in-law Mary Witbrodt, all of Bay City, MI and dear friends Joni Zeitz, Dick Duso, and George Cardinal.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Harry and Robert Rivet; and his sister Sally Moquin.
