Thomas "Ben" Dies

Thomas Bennett “Ben” Dies, age 75 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at The Villa at Rose City on Monday, November 23, 2015.

Thomas was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 3, 1940 to Hugh and Theresa (Hara) Dies.  He married Martha “Pat” on August 6, 1966 in Utica, MI.  Thomas worked for GM Metal Fab in Flint for 30 years, retiring in 1993.  The couple retired to Fairview in 1993 from Oxford, MI. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Thomas is survived by his wife Martha “Pat” Dies of Fairview, MI; his daughter Terry (Jeff) Bordner of Lake Orion, MI; his son Thomas (Anita) Dies of Wyoming, MI; his grandchildren:  Rachel Dies, Stephanie Dies, Nathaniel Dies, Andrew Dies, and Isabella Bordner; and one expected great-grandson. He will be missed also by his brothers:  Lauwren Dies, Claude (Helen) Dies, Robert (Beverly) Dies, John Dies, and Jeff Dies; and his sisters:  Gloria Dies, Barbara Dies, Betty (Norm) Haase, Jaunita (Mike) Cress; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents:  Hugh and Theresa Dies; his brother James (the late Judy) Dies; and his sister Carolyn (Richard) Buchanan.

Visitation on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 12 Noon – 3 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 3 PM with Pastor Gene Warren officiating. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the services.
