Teresa M. Flansburg

Teresa Maria Flansburg, age 45, of Luzerne, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, MI.
Visitation Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 1-4 PM and from 6-9 P.M. at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, with a Vigil Service at 7 P.M. offered by Mr. James Slasinski. Teresa will lay in state from 10 A.M. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, with Father Raymond Cotter officiating. Interment at Luzerne Cemetery.
Teresa was born on February 1, 1964 in Mount Clemens, MI to Mario and Gilda (Avellino) Mazzella. She graduated with honors from Lapeer West High School with the Class of 1982. After graduation, Teresa attended the University of Michigan and Mott College. She married Robert Flansburg on November 8, 1988 in Oxford, MI. She worked most recently as a Nursing Assistant for Primary Care Clinic in Mio. She had 23 years of nursing experience in her career. Teresa enjoyed gardening, crafts, fishing, camping, and trucking with her husband Robert. She loved spending time with her beloved son Roger, her pride and joy; Together they enjoyed playing board games and cards, reading, and fishing.
Teresa is survived by her husband Robert of Luzerne; her mother Gilda Mazzella of Oceanside, CA; her son Roger Flansburg at home; her brother Michael Mazzella of Oceanside, CA; and her best friend Joel Esperanza, also of Oceanside, CA. Teresa was preceded in death by her father Mario Mazzella.

Teresa will always be remembered for her smile and her optimistic outlook on life.
