Ted Finch

Mr. Edward ""Ted"" Finch, age 98 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 17, 2013.Ted was born in Comins Township, Michigan on April 21, 1915 to William and Della (Bud) Finch.  He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Upon returning home, he attended Michigan State University, receiving a Masterâ??s Degree in Agricultural Education.  He taught at Fairview High School from 1953-1977, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Michigan Vocational Teacherâ??s Club. Ted had a love for his community and especially enjoyed attending the school sporting events. A true Fairview Eagle, until the end.Ted is survived by his daughter Beth Miller of Constantine, MI; ; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; his 3 step-children an their families, his brother Robert (Jean) Finch of Mason, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his 1st Wife June, his 2nd wife Agnes, his son Edward ""Tug"" Finch, Jr.; and his sister Bertha Kurtz; brothers: William (Bill), Alvin (Tim), and Richard (Dick).  Visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and again from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Fairview Mennonite Church with Mr. Steve Gusler and Mr.Chris Kahila officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Michigan.Memorials may be made to: Fairview Area Schools, Athletic Department, 1879 E.
