Sylvia "Gallo" Guilds

Sylvia D. Guilds, age 88 of Rose City, Michigan, passed away at her home on Monday, March 16, 2020.

Sylvia was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 21, 1931 to Richard and Evelyn (Bond) Garnett. She graduated from Waterford Township School. Sylvia married Glenn A. Guilds, Sr. on December 13, 1969 in West Branch, Michigan. She worked as a baker for Clarkston Schools and had volunteered for the Red Cross. Sylvia was also a homemaker who loved flower gardening and her family. She and Glenn retired to Rose City, Michigan in July of 1992. Sylvia was an active member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Mio; and will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt.

Sylvia is survived by her children: Susan L. (Daniel) Jenks of Davisburg, MI; Sharon D. Sieting of Rose City, MI; Thomas F. Gallo, Jr. of Holly, MI; and Dee A. Gallo of Loxahatchee, FL; her siblings: Richard (Mitzi) Garnett, Anna Van Leuven, Ruth (Richard) Burton, David (Val) Garnett, and Maxwell (Judi) Garnett; 4 grandchildren: Eric, Kevin, Jeremiah, and Chevelle; 7 great-grandchildren: Kamden, Isaiah, August, Lyla, Carly, Jace, and Kody; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Glenn A. Guilds, Sr., and her brother-in-law George Van Leuven.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Mio at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2020, with Fr. Allan Feltner officiating. A light lunch will follow at the church with a Memorial Scattering of Ashes Ceremony to follow at Sylvia's home.
