Stanley was a member of the U.S. Army and Cavalry from June 1957 – May 1959, spending 15 months of that time in Germany doing training maneuvers. As a young man, he desired to be a priest. He married Donna Fryer on September 3, 1955 in Windsor, Ontario Canada. The couple moved to Hamtramck, Michigan and remained in the Detroit area until retiring in 1993 to the family home in Mio, Michigan that they owned since 1984. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, baseball, playing cards, home projects, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Stanley was a very smart, kind, and generous man that was loved by all in every walk of his life. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly.
Stanley is survived by his children: Kathleen (Dale) Norgan of Brockway, MI and Michael (Valory) Stopczynski of Acworth, GA; 4 grandchildren: Charlotte Mitch, Elizabeth Johnson, Solomon Stopczynski, and Kira Stopczynski; and 2 great grandchildren: Shalom Kolman and Alexander (Ozy) Johnson.
