"Cookie Lady"
Sharron M. (Clark) Davis, age 73, of Mio, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, had a smile on her face as she passed in her sleep on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022. The family believes the smile let them know she was finally with her family in Heaven.
Sharron was born in Bay City, Michigan on September 23, 1948, to Sylvan W. and Zelda B. (Fletcher) Clark. Sharron grew up in Bay City, Michigan with her parents and 3 siblings: Sylvan, Steven, and Susan. She was the "Mama Bear" of the family; growing up she loved to bake with her mom, and also loved animals, the outdoors, and fishing; these things would help her later in life. She attended Washington Elementary and graduated from T.L. Handy in 1966. Sharron also loved to sing; which was evident as she was active in the choir throughout her school years. Her love for sports was also evident as she coached her sister's baseball team. They were known as the "Monkeys" and Sharron was the "Zookeeper".
While working at Hills Restaurant in Bay City, she met William A. Davis of Bay City, formerly of West Branch, Michigan. The two fell in love and married on March 11, 1972. To hear Sharron tell it, "the wedding almost didn't happen" as Bill was watching an NCAA Basketball Tournament game that went into overtime and he couldn't be disturbed. So, here was Bill, late to his own wedding! Their marriage lasted just shy of 50 years. Bill worked at Saginaw Steering Gear and moved his new family to Saginaw, where they had 4 children: Wade, Scott, Kanndin, and Petha. Throughout her children's lives, "Mama Bear" was a workiing-class mother, devoted wife, softball coach, den leader, swim coach, and the family "Rock". Sharron and Bill enjoyed the outdoors and took their family on many camping trips Up North. In 1994, they moved to Mio, Michigan upon Bill's retirement, to permanently live in the great Up North. Once in Mio, Sharron made many friends and continued to sing in the church choir. She and Bill had more time to camp, hunt, fish and go to the casinos. They also made many friends on the AuSable River; through these friendships, Sharron became known as the "Cookie Lady". Sharron was always making the best cookies and giving them to everyone. She could have charged for them (as they were that good!), but her motto was "Payment is a smile on a face". Sharron loved helping people and soon started volunteering with the Together We Can food pantry, where she was a member for over 15 years. Upon its closing, she still took the time to pick-up and drop-off food to those who needed it in the community. Sometimes, she would just go sit with people who were alone and needed a friend. She made too many friends to name them all; just know all of you have an angel looking out for you. "To many, you were known as "Cookie Lady"; to all you were known as "Mom"."
Sharron is survived by her husband William A. Davis of Mio, MI; her children: Wade (Theresa) Davis of Lewiston, MI; Kanndin Davis of Saginaw, MI; and Petha (Jonas) Davis of Vallakra, Sweden; her siblings: Sylvan Clark and Susan Clark; both.of Bay City, MI; her nieces and nephews: Heather (Joseph) Klemm, Barbara (Jason) Kopka, Marvin Good, and Jessica Good; as well as 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Sylvan W. Clark in 1982, and Zelda B. (Fletcher) Clark in 2014; her brother Steven Clark in 2019; and her son Scott "Pooh Bear" Davis in 2020.
