Sharon K. Gilbert

October 26, 1953 — December 16, 2021

Sharon Kay Gilbert, 68, of Atlanta, Michigan, passed away from complications from COVID in the afternoon of December 16th, 2021 at McLaren Port Huron Hospital.

Sharon was born in 1953 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was adopted by Dolores and Claude Mowery. She graduated from Atlanta High School at the age of 17. She was then married to Patrick Gilbert and spent the next 48 years with him. She worked at many different places through her life. She was a finance manager at Scheer Motor in Grayling for many years. She served as the Big Creek township clerk for 8 years while living in Luzerne. Sharon always had time for her children and grandchildren no matter what was going on. Sharon always loved to go the casino with Patrick and play the slot machines.

Sharon was married to Patrick Gilbert for 48 years and has 2 loving sons, Sean and Timothy. Sharon loved to make time for her family no matter what they were doing. She learned to hunt from Patrick and loved to always aim for the head when hunting deer. She loved to participate with any activity that Sean and Tim were doing. She learned about sports and made sure to always be there when they were playing. She loved Christmas and Thanksgiving making sure we always celebrated together. She loved to crochet afghans and did a little quilting. She loved trinkets and crafting. Later in life she started doing more wood working and spending time in the garage doing that. Mom always had a special place for dogs including Cindy, Tiger, Bear, Sammy, Shaq, Elie, Kamper and finally Coco.

Her amazing life will forever be cherished by her son Sean and daughter in law Heather; her son Timothy and wife Michelle; and her grandchildren, Olivia, Timothy II, Violet, Nolan, Natalie, Kalib, Colton, Dylan and Reagan; great grandchild Owen; along with her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Claude Mowery, mother Dolores Mowery and husband Patrick Gilbert.

Mom will always be remembered for her unselfishness and always wanting to please people. Mom was always there for people who needed anything. She has touched so many people in her amazing journey. Mom was always caring, loving and selfless. Her favorite quote was “Everything will look brighter in the morning”.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Lashley Funeral Home in Mio, with Chaplain James Slasinski officiating.
In accordance with Sharon's wishes, cremation will follow the services.
