Sarah A. Cyr, age 87 of Traverse City, Michigan, formerly of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Grand Traverse Pavillions on Thursday, September 11, 2014.
Sarah was born in Leon, West Virginia on November 8, 1926 to Harley and Hannah (Siders) Cain. She moved to Michigan at age 16, residing in Howell, Michigan for 30 years. In 1971, she settled in Mio, Michigan, where she lived until she moved to Traverse City in 2011 to be nearer to her daughter. She had enjoyed watching the Red Wings, fishing, and crocheting. Sarah was an avid gardener and will be remembered for her wonderful jellies.
Sarah is survived by her children: Rose Stutesman (Brian Chicha) of Traverse City, MI; Paul (Jeanette) Hildreth of Burton, MI; and Donald (Sue) Hildreth of Howell, MI; 2 sisters: Ivy Gardner of Cohoctah, MI and Emma Kidd of Howell, MI; and her grandchildren: Rebekah, Rachael, Stacy, and Jodi. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Neil Hildreth and Leonard Cyr; her son Frank Hildreth; her grandsons Jason Stutesman and Nathaniel Hildreth; and her brothers and sisters: Robert, Melvin, Lucy, Judson, and Martha.
Visitation on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 1-4 PM and from 6-9PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 1 PM, also at Lashley Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Bowman officiating. A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Sanford Cemetery, Cohoctah, Michigan, conducted by Fr. Matthew-Peter Butrie.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association.
