Sally J. Galbraith

Sally J. Galbraith (nee Hubbard), age 81 of Mio, MI, passed away at home with her husband and children on Friday July 17, 2020.

Sally was born in Mio Michigan on March 9, 1939 to Zelda and James Hubbard. She grew up in Kneeland, MI. and graduated from Fairview High School in 1957. In 1960 she married Tim and together they raised seven children and grew what is now a fourth generation family beef farm. She instilled in her children the importance of continuous learning and exploration.

Sally was an active member of the community, giving her time for the Mio Ausable School Board, St. Mary's Parish, Oscoda County Library Board, Steiner Museum, 4H, the Oscoda County Fair, Mio Band Boosters, Chamber of Commerce, Master Gardeners' Club, Historical Society, as a Sheriff's department dispatcher, Oscoda County Ambulance Director and past broker/owner of State wide Real Estate of Mio. She loved her family, the color red, books and traveling (not necessarily in that order).

Sally is survived by her husband, Martin Tim Galbraith, her children Sharon (Dana) Leblanc, Martin (Barb) Galbraith, Mary Frew, Tom (Ann) Galbraith, Julie (John) Bureau, Paula Galbraith, and Mark (Catalina) Galbraith, her three sisters; Evelyn (Dick) Larrison, Janice (Ross) Shue, Karen (Ray) Rader and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Linda Galbraith, granddaughter Sarah Frew, grandson Timothy LeBlanc, and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 21, 2020 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio MI and Wednesday at 10.00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio, Rosary at 10:30 with Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.. Fr. Santiago Hoyumpa officiating. Interment to follow at Kittle Cemetery, Mio.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Shrine Restoration Fund.
