Ruth L. Webb

Ruth L. Webb, age 99 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Fairview, Michigan on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
Ruth was born in Fairview, Michigan on March 2, 1916 to Chauncey and Salina (Sharp) Zook. On December 6, 1936, she married Earl L. Webb in Detroit, Michigan. The couple lived in Detroit until 1956 when they moved to Elida, Ohio. They settled in Fairview in 1973. Ruth had attended Lima Christian Women’s Club and Shawnee Alliance Church in Lima, Ohio. Ruth was a member of the Mio Church of God (now Tripoint Church of God) where she was a member of Stephen Ministries. She also led Bible Study at AuSable Valley Nursing Home. Ruth loved God, always putting Him and His Word first in her life. She also loved sharing the joys of the outdoors with her family and friends, opening up Webb’s Hill for sledding and their pond for swimming to church groups and community members. She ran 5ks in the oldest division, and was the oldest winner. Ruth also enjoyed riding her 4-wheeler and golf cart through the woods. She loved going anywhere people invited her, especially on vacations with family. She wrote poems, stories, and journals of her many travels with her family.
Ruth is survived by her children: Earl E. (Carolyn) Webb of Colorado Springs, CO; Nita (Ron) Varland of Elida, OH; and her son-in-law Ken (Sally) Martin of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by her brother Norman Zook of Bend, OR, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earl L. Webb; her daughter Norma Martin; 3 brothers: Virgil, Truman, and Delbert Zook; and 2 sisters: Vera Yoder and Vesta Handrich.
Visitation on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Tripoint (Mio) Church of God, Mio, MI, from 10 AM until Funeral Services at 11 AM with Pastor Chris Bones officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Camp Barakel.
