Ruth P. Shastal, age 66 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Monday, June 22, 2020.

Ruth was born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 19, 1953 to William and Mildred (Miller) Barnes. She moved to Mio from Pontiac with her husband Steve and their family in 1972. Ruth had enjoyed quilting, riding side-by-side, traveling to the U.P., and spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her dear husband of 47 years, Steve; her children: Steve Shastal, Matt (Lisa) Shastal, and Josh Shastal; 2 brothers: Richard Barnes and Leonard Barnes; 15 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Bill, George, Shirley, Marlene, and Judy.

Visitation on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 1 – 4 PM and again from 6 – 9 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI; and Ruth will lie in state on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 12 Noon until the Funeral Services at 1 PM also at Lashley Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Janiszewski officiating. Interment will follow the services at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.

REMINDER: During the COVID-19 regulations, we are currently required to limit the number of persons in the building to 10 people.
