Ruth Green

Mrs. Ruth Green, age 82, of Mio, MI, formerly of Davison, MI, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at Briarwood Nursing Home in Flint, Michigan.
Ruth was born on December 3, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to William and Erna (Lehman) Winkler.  She graduated from Goodrich High School with the Class of 1947.  She married Ernest Green on January 24, 1948 in Flint.  Ruth was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking and attended and sang in the choir at both Trinity Lutheran Church in Davison, MI and at St. John Lutheran Church in Mio, MI, following the coupleâ??s move to Mio in May of 1980.
Surviving are her husband  Ernest of Mio;  her loving daughter Susan (Duane) Clayton of Swartz Creek, MI; her sisters:  Anita Delgado of El Paso, TX; Dorothy Thomas of Burton, MI; and Rosie Jordan of Arizona; her brother Bill (Becky) Winkler of Swartz Creek, MI; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.  Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and her children:  Sharon K. Green and Jeffery  W. Green.
Visitation Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 4-9PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI and again on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Mio, MI, with Pastor Michael Sheppard officiating.   Interment at Luzerne Cemetery, Luzerne, MI.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 75 N. Mt. Tom Road, Mio, Michigan  48647; or to Hospice Advantage of Flint, MI.
