Mr. Russell Elmer Massey, age 85, of Mio died Friday, October 12th, 2007 at his home.

Visitation Saturday October 13, 2007 from 4-9 PM at The Lashley Funeral Home in Mio. Masonic Lodge Service 7:00 PM Saturday by Mio Lodge #596 F. & A. M. Funeral Services at The Lashley Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 14th, with Reverend Glynn McMorris officiating. Military Honors offered by The Luzerne American Post # 162. Graveside Service at Oakland Cemetery, Glencoe, Ontario Canada on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Preacher Murray Regis Officiating.

Russell was born in Detroit, MI to the late Stanley and Anna (Watson) Massey. He was raised in Newbury, Ontario and had served in the U.S. Army as a Pfc in WW II. He was the husband of Donna Coral (Bell) Massey whom he married in London, Ontario on September 20, 1947. He was a retired Supervisor from Pontiac Motors and moved to Mio in 1977. He attended The Mio Baptist Church and was a member and a past Master of The Mio Masonic Lodge # 596, a member of Mio Chapter # 528 O.E.S., Elf Khurafeh Shriners of Saginaw, Mio VFW Post # 4126 and Mio American Legion Post #348. Russell enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as square dancing with Donna.

He is survived by his wife Donna; Sons: Larry Massey of Brownsville, Texas and Garry Massey of Livonia, MI; Half Sister Beverly Robb of Kitchiner, Ontario; Half Brother Joe Babcock of Wardsville, Ontario. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Beth Massey of Australia and Dean Massey of Chicago; two brothers-in-law: Arthur Stapledon and Lyle Robb and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Myrtle Durfey and Mildred Stapledon.
