Rudolf Kocis

Rudolf Kocis, age 84 of Mio, Michigan passed away at his home on Thursday, June 18, 2015.

Rudolf was born in Yugoslavia. He served in the Serbian Military and was educated in Yugoslavia as an engineer. He worked in the Clay Tile and petroleum industries in Yugoslavia. He married Iren Csuszo there, and at age 36, their family moved to the US. settling in Detroit Michigan. They moved to Mio in 1977. He worked as a tool and die maker, retiring from Header Products of Rose City, Michigan. He was a volunteer for the Oscoda County Food Distribution Program. Rudolf enjoyed fixing and repairing things, using his tool and die skills, sometimes even making and rebuilding needed parts; grilling; watching birds; woodworking; and Hungarian music. His family and their needs came first in his life, and he dearly loved them all.

Rudolf is survived by his children; Ann Haberlog of Ypsilanti, Michigan; Erzsebet "Liz" (John) Sheffer of Mio, Michigan; and Zoltan (Sheila) Kocis of Pinkney, Michigan; his daughter-in-law Lucretia Kocis of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; 10 grandchildren: Lora (Steve), Jackie (Jenn), Andrea (Brent), Shelley (Ryan),Amy (Andy),Kassie, Tracy, Morgan (Mack), Amber (Steve) and Taylor; and 6 great grandchildren: Nathan, Memphis, Tyler, Clayton, Aubry, and Kendall. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Iren; his son Rudolf Kocis, Jr.; 2 brothers Stefan and Mihalj " Mike" (Maria) Kocis and his sister Anna.

Visitation on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan and again from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 12 Noon on Monday, June 22, 2015also at Lashley Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Carter officiating. Interment follows at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
