Ruby Ella Jenner, , of Fairview, Michigan went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on July 1st,, 2026 at her Hillman’s Haven Assisted Living apartment. Ruby was born on March 29th, 1939 in Comins, Michigan, to Sheridan and Verna (Gusler) Rhoads. She joined her siblings on the farm.

Ruby attended Comins Elementary school then on to Fairview High school where she was a cheerleader for the Eagles. That’s where Bob Jenner saw her and set up a double date. Bob and Ruby became an item and were married after she graduated in 1957. Nine months later their family started arriving: Jane Lynn, James Robert, Joanne Ruby and John Arthur.

Ruby loved being a “stay at home” mom to her 4 children, and later to her many grands. She was an avid gardener, golfer, and cook. She also took care of many family members in their final moments of life. Ruby asked Christ into her life as a young person and walked with Him faithfully through the years. She lead worship and taught Sunday School for the Mio Assembly of God and Comins Mennonite churches for many years.

Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed greatly.

Ruby Ella (Rhoads) Jenner is survived by her daughter Jane Handrich (Dallas) of Fairview, daughter Joanne Szubelak (Peter) of Fairview, son John Jenner (Rhonda) of Fairview, MI, and Daughter in law, Jacqueline (Jenner) Barnum . Grandchildren: Joshua, Jordan, Matthias, Solomon, Jubal, Theophilus, Daykota, Colby, Grant, Bridgette, Jade, Pierson, Indigo, Camille, Hudson, Austin and 50 great grandchildren!!

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Sheridan and Verna (Gusler) Rhoads, her siblings Maurice Rhoads, Phyliss Harris, and Milton Rhoads, her husband, Bobby Jenner,and her son, James Robert Jenner.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on July 5th, 2026, at the Lashley Funeral Home in Mio, Michigan. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6th, at the Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview, Michigan with Pastor Brad Matuzak and Pastor Jubal Handrich officiating. A private interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
