Roy E. Darling

Mr. Roy E. Darling, age 81, of Comins, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.
Visitation Friday, September 12, 2008 from 5-9 P.M. at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio and again from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 2P.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Lashley Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Salsbury officiating. In accordance with Roy's wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service.
Mr. Darling was born on November 18,1926 to Nathaniel and Adeline Darling in Cass City, Michigan. Roy worked as a mechanic for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1978 after 30 years of service. He was a resident of Comins, Ml for 30 years, and was a Charter Member of Comins Eagles Aerie #3544. He was a friend to everyone he met.
Mr. Darling is survived by his wife of 61 years Delphine I. (Plotzke) Darling; his children: Frank (Martha) Darling, Thomas (Carol) Darling, Cecelia (Roger) Price, Norbert Darling, and Barbara (Kevin) Schneider; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his sister Berenice Sowdon, and several nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.
