Ronald Jess Kerr, age 85 of Lewiston, Michigan, passed away at Munson Grayling Hospital on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
Ronald was born in Flint, Michigan on March 13, 1940 to Lyman and Marie (Ruff) Kerr. He worked for the Flint Journal from 1958 – 1959, then worked for Chevrolet in 1960. He served his country in the US Army 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii and also served in Thailand. After his service, he worked many years as a machine oiler at the GM-Chevrolet V-8 Engine plant in Flint, retiring in 1991. Ronald moved to Lewiston in 1991. He was a member of the Luzerne American Legion and the Lewiston American Legion
Ronald is survived by his niece Lynn (Mitch) Clevenger, his nephew Brad (Cindy)Vandenboss, and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Jessie J. and Elva Ruff; his parents, and his wife Barbara Lee Kerr.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Emma Lowery Congregational Church in Luzerne, MI with Pastor Hedy Alcock officiating, with a light lunch to follow. His ashes will be placed in a niche next to his wife Barbara at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, in Grand Blanc, Michigan at a later date.
