Robert E. Hoover

UPDATED Mr. Robert E. Hoover, Jr., age 61, of Mio, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008 at his home. Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at The Lashley Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday May 23, 2009, with interment of ashes to follow at Kittle Cemetery. Mr. Hoover was born on April 2, 1947 in Waterford, Ml to Robert E. & Sheila (Pratt) Hoover, Sr. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He lived in Mio for many years, having worked for Hoskins Manufacturing as a machine operator. Robert was a member of the Mio V.F.W., the Mio American Legion, the Mio Dummy Club, the Comins Eagles, and the Mio Moose Lodge. He had enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all outdoor activities, including gardening. Mr. Hoover is survived by his children: Kip H. (Shondra) Hoover of Spencerville, OH, and Robert E. (Aimee) Hoover, III of Vancouver, WA; his step-children: Denise Caverly of Kalamazoo, Ml; Shelly (Calvin) Anderson of Naples, FL; and Faith (David) Grinnell of Milan, Ml; his brothers: Bill Hoover of Detroit, Ml; Ed Hoover and Hal Hoover, both of Alpena, Ml; 6 grandchildren: Kaileigh, Emma, Robert IV, Hunter, Cierra, and Joshua; and 5 step-grandchildren: Erin (Tyler) Jager, Jeremy, Breanna, Malorie, and Avorie.
