Mr. Robert E. Holtslander, age 71, of Luzerne, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 at his home.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Sharpe Funeral Home in Linden, Ml with interment of ashes at Fairview Cemetery in Linden at a later date.
Mr. Holtslander was born to Robert E. & Dorothy E. Holtslander in Flint on October 6, 1936 and was raised in Linden, Ml. Robert worked at General Motors Parts in Swartz Creek, and retired in 1996. He moved to Mio following his retirement in 1996, and then settled in Luzerne. He had been married to Shirley for 13 years. Robert enjoyed the nature of Northern Michigan.
Mr. Holtslander is survived by his wife Shirley of Luzerne; his son Robert E Holtslander III of Grayling; his daughter Dana McDonald of Merritt Island, FL; his step-sons Robert (Karin) Cooney of Traverse City, Ml and James (Denise) Cooney of Concord, Ml; his sister Betty (Dick) Fent of Akins, SC; his brother Lloyd (Peggy) Holtslander of Swartz Creek, Ml; his grandchildren Samantha and James; his step-grandchildren Katie, Jack, Maggie, Kristine, Katie, Ryan, Shannon and Megan and by his sister-in-law Nettie Holtslander of Linden, Ml. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Lady. He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife Mary Ann, his step-son Richard Cooney, his brother Freddie and his sister Barbara.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Mercy Health Care & Hospice of Grayling or to the American Cancer Society in Robert's memory.
