Robert C. Gordert, age 84 of Luzerne, Michigan, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 10, 1939 and lived in Metamora. The family moved to Luzerne where he lived and worked at Camp Bear Paw, which was owned by his parents. He graduated from Mio High School, then attended the Detroit Police Academy. He worked for the Detroit Police Department until he was injured in 1968 and he retired in 1971. Robert moved back to Luzerne and started Northern Wholesale Sporting Goods, building his store in Mio in 1975. He retired from it in 2009. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Hubble Springs Sportsman’s Club.
Robert is survived by his children: Tina Gordert, Chris (Kevin) Gresens, Bobbie Jo Gordert, and Tammy Gordert; his sisters: Mary Lou Gordert, Rosy Moss, and Kathi Mitchell; his grandchildren: Charles Moore, Malinda Moore, Gordon Moore, William (Jessica) Gresens, and Bradley (Natalie) Gresens; his great-grandchildren: Ekatarina Phillips and Briar Moore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Easter Gordert, his wife Linda Gordert, his brothers: Frances Gordert and James Gordert, and his sister Marie Stark.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later date.
