Robert D. Dudek, Sr., age 70 of Lewiston, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Fairview, Michigan on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.
Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 15, 1946 to Stephen and Edith (Sachse) Dudek. He married Kathleen King on August 21, 1982 in Carleton, MI. Robert worked in assembly for Ford Motor Company-Dearborn Plant; then became a semi-truck driver for Ford. He became union vice-president of Local 600 of the Transportation Unit. Robert retired from Ford in1999, and he and Kathy moved to Lewiston in 2000. Robert attended the Mio United Methodist Church. He had enjoyed hunting and fishing, U of M football, and the Detroit Lions.
Robert is survived by his wife Kathy of Lewiston, MI; his children: Joanne Dudek of Taylor, MI; Darrel (Kelly) Dudek of New Port, MI; Jennifer Sano of Dearborn Heights, MI; and Scott Sano of Dearborn Heights, MI; his 2 grandchildren: Logan Dudek and Kyle Dudek; his sisters: Joanne (Dirk) Stuivenberg of Rockwood, MI; and Sharon Egan of Wasilla, AK; his daughter-in-law Amy Dudek of Taylor, MI and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Dudek, Jr.
Visitation on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016 from 1-9 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and also on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016 from 10-11 AM at the Mio United Methodist Church with Funeral Services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Brenda Klacking officiating. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
