Mr. Robert G. Carter, age 83, of Fairview, MI, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at his home.Robert was born on December 5, 1927 in Pontiac, Michigan to Auburn and Lois (Bray) Carter. He served his country during WWII in the US Navy. Robert worked for General Motors Auburn, Michigan Truck & Bus Plant for 34 years, retiring in 1977. He and his wife Mona moved to Fairview upon his retirement. Robert was a Lifetime Member of the Keego Harbor V.F.W. He was also a faithful member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church of Mio, where he enjoyed helping with many activities. Bob enjoyed hunting, golfing, and landscaping his property. He was incredibly loved by all that knew him. Surviving are his loving wife Ramona B. Carter; his children: Jeanette Carter of White Lake, MI; Gayle (John) Mercer of Bonne Terre, MO; Dee (Bill) McClintock of Bowie, MD; Vance Bradley of Fairview, MI; and Margarett (Mark) Seaman of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Jeanene Carter; and his 2 brothers: Bill and Bud Carter.Visitation Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 5-9PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI and again on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 12 Noon until funeral service at 1:00 PM at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church with Pastor Elizabeth Chace officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, MI, with Military Honors offered by the Luzerne American Legion Post #162.Memorial Donations may be made to St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, P.O.
