Robert W. Becker

Robert W. Becker, age 90 of Curran, Michigan, passed away at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Alpena on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 18, 1927 to Joseph and Rosslyn (Harrington) Becker. He served his country in the US Coast Guard at the end of WWII. Robert retired to Curran in 1990 from Marlette, Michigan. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and was a beekeeper for many years.

Robert is survived by his children: Vara Wilcox of Holt, MI; and Brad (Carolyn) Becker of Casco, MI; his sister Judith Becker of Tryon, NC; 4 grandchildren: Steven, Beth, Blair, and Jonathon; and 7 great-grandchildren: Carter, Riley, Dorian, Isla, Laila, Logan, and Colin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife Marilyn, his 2nd wife Louise, his son Jon, and his sister Isabel Payne.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 1:00 PM at The Praxis Church, Mio, Michigan with Pastor Cody Gascho officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VA Clinic in Alpena, Michigan.
