Richard A. Toney

Richard "Ricky" Allen Toney, age 63, of Mio, MI, passed away Saturday, August 8th, 2026 at home.

Ricky was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 30, 1962, to Phyllis Gilliland and Walter Toney. He was a truck driver for many years, giving him to opportunity to travel. Ricky was a generous and kind-hearted man who loved Jesus, his grand-babies, and above all, his John Deere tractor. He also enjoyed watching Survivor with his wife. Ricky was a great provider for his family, and will be remembered dearly for that.

He is survived by the love of his life, Carmen (Cancel) Toney, mother, Phyllis Gilliland, children, Rick Toney, Glenn Toney, Jessica (Clyde) Preddy-Curtis, Corey Toney, Darrel Curtis, Bethaney Toney, and Heather Curtis, sisters, Patricia and Starlena, brother, Walter Jr. (Leta) Toney, and grandchildren, James Jr., Hank, Alizabeth, Luke, Jeremiah, Jesenya, Sarah, Emma, Devyn, Cherish, Isabella, Celie, Richard, Makannah, Noah, Corey Jr., Chevy, Journey, Eli, Anmyre, and Jaxyn.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Walter Toney, and brother, Michael Toney.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mio Baptist Church in Mio, Michigan, funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Glynn McMorris officiating. Cremation will follow.
