Richard E. Stone

Richard E. Stone, Jr., age 66 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at his home on Friday, January 13, 2017.
Richard was born in Pontiac, Michigan on September 26, 1950 to Richard E. and Margaret (Bull) Stone. He served in the US Navy in the Vietnam War. Richard married Edith Smith on December 31, 1971 in Philadelphia, PA, and the couple moved from there to Mio, MI in 1974. Richard worked as a greens keeper for Fairview Hills Golf Course. He had been a member of the Luzerne American Legion Post. Richard enjoyed camping with his granddaughters, golf, and ice fishing.
Richard is survived by his wife Edith “Tootsie” Stone of Mio, MI; his mother Margaret Stone; his children: Joseph Stone of Saginaw, MI and Sandy (Pat) Hart of Saginaw, MI; his brothers Joe (Alice) Stone and Pat (Val) Stone, both of Mio, MI; his granddaughters Kylie Jo and Olivia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Richard E. Stone, Sr.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned.
Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
