Richard Lawrence Poet, age 36, of Mio, MI, passed away Friday, September 26t, 2014 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City.
Richard was born in Romulus,MI and moved to Monroe were he lived with his Dad until he married Melissa when they moved to Newport,MI. The family settled in Mio, were they have lived for about 6 years.
He worked ay Industrial Fencing in Detroit,MI. before moving to Mio. He was a advid hunter and fisherman. Hobbies archery and growing and canning vegtables and making jerky.
Surviving are his wife Melissa and daughter Misty. His father Dennis Poet Sr. and stepmom Denise of Monroe, Mi. His bother Dennis Poet Jr of Romulus, Mi.Sister Jennifer Step brother David LaBell of Monroe, Mi. Two Step Sisters Danielle Mungar from Monroe, Mi. and Erika Hunt from Ida , Mi. Two grand Mothers Janette Murphy and Betty Daughty Crow from Romulus, MI. 4 nephews and 3 nieces. many Aunts and Uncles and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his Mother Sheila.
Visitation, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 2:00 PM until the time of Funeral Services at 7:00 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio with Pastor Ben Fulayter officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
