Richard Allen Kalbfleisch

November 7, 1935 — February 17, 2025

Richard Allen Kalbfleisch, 89, of Trout Creek, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse.

Richard was born on Nov. 7, 1935, in Goodland Township, Michigan, to Kenneth and Ina (Abbott) Kalbfleisch. He graduated from Brown City High School in 1954.

On Sept. 18, 1954, Dick married Arvella McCann, whom he enjoyed 70 years of marriage with. They got to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with many friends and family on Sept. 21, 2024, at Kittle Hall in Mio, Michigan.

Dick worked at farming most of his life, starting at the age of 5. He also worked at Fairview Lumber for more than 25 years. Dick enjoyed farming with his wife for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and moving to the Upper Peninsula in 2005. He loved being around his family and friends. He also loved the coffee table with the guys from Trout Creek.

Dick is survived by his loving, devoted and caring wife, Arvella; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark (Vicki), Kenton (Violet), Nathan (Aimee), Keith and Rochelle (Mark Willobee); a brother, Dennis (Lora); and his children by choice, Ted and Char. He also is survived by 33 grandchildren and spouses and 24 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sally and Linda; a brother, Ron; a son, Patrick; a grandson, Kenneth; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Dorothea McCann.

A memorial gathering will beheld on  Saturday, March 8, 2025, at The Clinton Township Hall, 4232 N. Abbe Rd. Comins, MI 48619. from 12:30 PM until the time of services at 1:30 PM with Pastor Lowell Eastman officiating.
