Raymond Henry Durtka

Raymond Henry Durtka, age 78, of Westland, MI, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Garden City Hospital, Garden City, MI.

Raymond was born in Fairview, Michigan on April 7, 1939, a son of Dorothy (Miller) and Henry Durtka. Ray is proceeded in death by his wife of 50 years Mary Jane. Together they raised 3 boys while Ray worked 35 years for GM. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, traveling, spending time with family and being at his cabin in Fairview. Ray was also known for his sense of humor.

Ray is survived by his 3 sons: Mike (Judy) of New Boston, Jeff (Dana) of Romulus and Matt of Westland. Ray has 7 grandchildren: Stephanie (Larry), Heidi (Trevor), Ben (Michelle), Jonathan, Wendi, Nathan and Aaron; 4great-grandchildren: Levi, Ollie, Emma and Joel. Ray is also survived by his 2 sisters Barbara (John) of Belleville and Pat (Clyde) of Pahrump NV and several nieces and nephews.

Ray was also proceeded in death by his parents Henry and Dorothy, brother: Jerry and his wife Christa.

Visitation Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11-1 PM. at The Lashley Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, MI.
