Ramona B. Carter

Ramona B. Carter, age 78 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at Bay Medical Center in Bay City, Michigan on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
Ramona was born in Auburn, Kentucky on January 16, 1939 to Edward and Jesse (Humphries) Maddox. She moved to Pontiac, Michigan in 1962, then she and the family moved to Lake Orion, Michigan in 1973. They moved to Lapeer in 1976, then settled in Fairview, MI in 1977. Ramona had worked as a draftsman for General Motors for many years. She was an active member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church. She was also involved with the DARE Program, went on missionary trips, and was an advocate for Lydia’s Gate and His Love. She enjoyed taking care of others.
Ramona is survived by her children: DeAnna McClintock of Bowie, MD; Vance “Buck” Bradley of Fairview, MI; Margarett (Mark) Seaman of Fort Walton Beach, FL and step-daughter Jeanette Carter of Auburn Heights, MI; her sister Margaret Johnson of Russellville, KY; her half-sisters: Donna (Dwayne) Gass and Linda Walden; and her half-brother Clarence Maddox. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Terry Mercer, Andrew Shane Mercer, Crista Dieterich, Liesl McClintock, Tica Bell, and James Bell; her great-grandchildren: Terry Mercer, Jr., Kaleb Kolt Pheffer, Lidia Mercer, and Broderick Mercer; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert (with whom she spent 36 beautiful years together), her daughter Leona Gayle Mercer, her half-sister Kathryn Maddox, and her half-brother Edward Maddox, Jr.
Visitation on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 11 AM – 1:00 PM at the St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 1:30 PM with Fr. Allan Feltner officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 789 Ryno Rd., Mio, MI 48647.
