Paul "Jim" Stone, age 75, of Red Oak, MI, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his residence.
Jim was born in Detroit, MI on January 6, 1942, a son of the late Cassie Louise (Detty) and Paul Gilbert Stone. He graduated from Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores, MI, He married Christel "Jane" (White) Stone on December 8, 1962 also in St. Clair Shores. The Couple lived in the Almont, MI area until purchasing the Bear Paw Resort in Luzerne in 1976. Jim was past president of the Knock Busters Archery Club and had taught Archery though 4-H. He was past president of the Luzerne Business Association and had served as an officer and BINGO Secretary for many years at The Mio Moose Lodge and had also been a BINGO caller at the Luzerne Northwoods Club. Jim was a licensed HAM radio operator, an avid fisherman, bow hunter and radio controlled airplane enthusiast, and served as secretary for The AuSable Valley R.C. Fliers Club. Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and friend who loved to tell a good story and share a joke. He was the "life of the party".
Surviving are his wife Christel "Jane" Stone, Daughters: Marlana (Donald) Blamer and Malinda Stone (John Ross); grandchildren: Cassie and Katie Ross; step-grandchildren: Sabrina and Jacklyn Ross; step-great grandchildren: Dallas and Kyra McGillis and Matthew Heinz and also, his beloved dachshund Belle.
In accordance with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jim's Life will be panned at a later date.
