Paul K. Fox

Paul K. Fox, age 71 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital in Bay City, Michigan on Monday, January 4, 2021.

Paul was born in Hillman, Michigan on July 22, 1949 to Kenneth and Dorothy (Krouse) Fox. He graduated from Mio High School, then attended Western Michigan University, receiving his Master’s Degree in Education. Paul began his teaching career in Mio, where he also coached basketball. He later taught at Monroe Jefferson and Byron Area Schools, where he also served as Athletic Director and basketball coach. Paul chartered boats on Lake Erie for over 30 years. He retired in 2001, and settled back in Mio. He was a member of the Mio Moose Lodge. He had enjoyed reading, Westerns, hunting and history. He was a Civil War buff and a University of Michigan fan who "bled Blue & Gold". Above all else, he dearly loved his family and his grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his wife Joan; his children: Michael Fox of Canton, OH; Ryan (Cristin) Fox of Bancroft, MI; Kelli (Brian) Ross of Burton, MI; and Trevor Fox of Mio, MI; his sister Margaret Fox of Mio, MI; his brother Lowell (Kim) Fox of Mio, MI; and 5 grandchildren: Charlie, Ella, Reed, Ava, and Ian. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ken and Dorothy Fox; and 2 sisters: Helen Leaf and Sheila Rittenhouse.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mio Moose Lodge.
