Paul J. Cassow I, age 86 of Luzerne, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away at his home on Friday, June 23, 2017.
Paul was born to Herbert and Clara (Arnold) Cassow in Saginaw, Michigan on June 19, 1931. He worked as a truck driver for 35 years; starting in 1948, hauling milk. In 1959, he married his wife Judy, who predeceased him on August 29, 2001. Paul hired in to Otto Taylor Construction, moving heavy equipment and hauling sand and gravel. He drove for them for some time, then in 1967, he hired into Interstate Motor Freight, hauling freight. Paul was injured in 1980 and retired. He moved to Luzerne, MI in 1981. While living in Luzerne, he worked for White Oak Manor Nursing Home of Mio, MI as a maintenance supervisor for 6 years.
Paul is survived by his 2 sons: Edward “Chip” and Paul II; his daughter Catherine; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy, his sister, and 1 daughter.
In accordance with Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017, at 11 AM, the family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of Service at 11 AM. at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan with Pastor Hedy Alcock officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Luzerne American Legion Post #162 Auxiliary/ Marjorie Roth Scholarship Fund; or to Hospice of Helping Hands of West Branch
