Patrick Jay Stone, 67, of Mio, MI, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Patrick was born in Lapeer, MI on December 14, 1955 to Richard E. And Margaret (Bull) Stone. He was raised in Lake Orion and later Luzerne, MI.
He served as a mechanic in the United States Army in the Fulda Gap in the 1/11 Armored Calvary Regiment from 1974 - 1977. Patrick married Valerie K. Willobee on May 12, 1984 in Plano, TX and the couple moved from there to Luzerne, MI that same year. Patrick worked as a master carpenter for his career. He had been a member of the Luzerne and Mio American Legion Post. Patrick was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his son, grandchildren and friends. He was a member of the Arenac County Walleye Club and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and traveling. Those who knew him best knew him as Stoner or Kingfish.
Patrick had a love for life, his friends and held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He made a point to have a good time and was always a welcome smile at any occasion. He would do anything for those he cared for. He was a big part of the community and helped to bring people together.
Patrick is survived by his wife Valerie K. Stone, his children: Donald (Amy) Stone of Waterford, MI and Shannon Stone of Mio, MI; his brother Joe (Alice) Stone; sisters in law Edith “Tootsie” Stone, Leslie (Brian) Farley; brothers in law David and Larry Turner, his grandchildren Leo, Wyatt, and Noah; his nieces: Stephanie (Ryan) Cleaver, Sandy (Pat) Hart; Nephews Joey (Angie) Stone, Eric (Andrea) Stone, Patrick (Adriana) Stone; Charles (Brandi) Willobee, Great Nieces Olivia, Harper, Cadence; Great Nephews BJ (Bones), Dawson, Jacob, Nathan, and the Trolling Stones Fishing Team
He was preceded in death by his father Richard E. Stone Sr., Mother Margaret (Bull) Stone, brother Richard E. Stone, Jr., and sister in law Linda Willobee.

Visitation 3:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI. Funeral Services Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI with Reverend Joel Mitchell officiating. Military offered by members of The Luzerne and Mio American Legion Posts and The Mio VFW Post.
Committal Service and interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Holly, MI on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 1:30 PM.
