Oliver Brady Hall, age 93 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at his home in Fairview, Michigan on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Oliver was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 30, 1933 to Walter A. and Arlene Edith (Richardson) Hall. He began his schooling at the Drennan one-room school in Lynn Township (in Michigan’s thumb area). The family later moved to Dearborn, where Oliver attended Woodworth Junior High through ninth grade. Oliver then began Henry Ford Trade School, and was graduated in 1951. He spent 2 additional years apprenticing at Ford Motor Company, receiving his journeyman’s card in Tool & Die in 1954. Oliver continued working for Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1988.
He met Leoda Ryan at Calvary Baptist Church youth group in Dearborn, Michigan. They were married in the church on May 2, 1953. They bought a house in Dearborn, where they raised their family.
Oliver was always willing to help others. While in Dearborn, he drove people who needed transportation, drove the church bus, and enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing catcher on a fast-pitch softball team. In 1989, Oliver and Leoda moved to their property in Fairview, Michigan, that they had owned since 1970. Oliver was a member of the Comins Community Church in Comins, Michigan, where he was on many church boards and ministries. He also served on the Oscoda County Council on Aging where he was active for 15 years. Oliver enjoyed being active outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and gardening; riding motorcycles and snowmobiles; and working with his tractors. He was gifted at fixing cars (and anything else). Ollie knew he had a treasure in his wife Leoda, who adopted his dream of up-north living. He lovingly cared for her as her mobility declined in later years. He will be remembered for loving and being loved by family and community; for being a welcoming presence at church; and for living his faith in God.
Oliver is survived by his children: Laura (John) Hice of Flint, MI; Allan Hall (Katja Karner) of Novi, MI; and Bonnie Case of Westland, MI; his grandchildren: Carrie, James (Dana), Kendall (Brandon), and Jason (Caitlin); his great-grandchildren: Emma, Ryan, Jacob, and Liam; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leoda, and his son-in-law Charles Case.
Visitation on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 3 – 7 PM at the Comins Community Church, Comins, MI. Oliver will also lie in state from 10 AM until Funeral Services at 11 AM on Monday, July 13, 2026 at the Comins Community Church with Pastor Kevin Salsbury officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
