Olive Grace Marsh

Mrs. Olive Grace Marsh, age 98, of Fairview, passed away Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community, Fairview, Michigan.
Visitation Sunday, June 14, 2009 at The Mio Seventh-day Adventist Church from 11:00 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 3:00 PM with Pastor Keith Phillips officiating. Interment at Kittle Cemetery , Mio, MI.
Olive was born on September 25, 1910 in Mio to Ernest L. & Laura M. (Schanck) Pierce. She attended several schools in both the Traverse City and Mio Areas. Olive married Frank Russell Marsh on April 20, 1929 in Edmore, MI. She and Frank worked together in their construction company, where Olive worked as bookkeeper, secretary and treasurer. She was a member of The Mio Seventh-day Adventist Church and was an active member of the Mio Community where she served on the Election Boards, The Mio School Board and was past District Vice President of Mio Community Services. Olive spent her later years wintering in in Wickenburg, Arizona. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting and crocheting, making quilts and afghans for all her children.
Surviving are her three daughters, Eloise (Larry) Madison of Standish, MI, Mary Lou (Norm) Detrich of Mio and Elizabeth (Darrel) Spragg of Lachine, MI; 12 grandchildren: Paul (Linda) Madison, Laura (Dr. Larry) LaLonde, Gayle (Bruce) Hendy, Eric (Dawn) Madison, Lynn (Judy) Miller, Nancy (Bob) Jones, Steve (Bev) Miller, Scott (Terri) Rhoads, Rob (Denise) Rhoads, Chip Redker, Dr. Christopher (Molly) Redker and Josh (Kari) Spragg; 18 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Russell Marsh in 1973, and two sisters: Lucille Craft and Hazel Fisher.
Olive will be remembered by all who's lives she so deeply touched, for her generous and kind spirit and the love and friendship she easily shared with family and friends.
