Mr. Norman James (Lou) Rogner, age 57, of Luzerne, MI, formerly of Flint, passed away Saturday, July 14th, 2007 at Mercy Hospital, Grayling.
Visitation Tuesday 1-6 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Funeral Services at the funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 18th, with Pastor Mike Stadelmayer officiating. Interment at Luzerne Cemetery.
Lou was born on June 28, 1950 in Saginaw to Norman W. & Dorothy Rogner. He graduated from Vassar High School in 1969 and went to work for General Motors later that same year.
Lou married Sally Ann (Bennett) Rogner on January 23, 1971 at The Nazarene Church in Vassar. The couple moved from Flint to Luzerne in 1998, commuting to work until his retirement as a shipping and receiving clerk from GM Buick in October of 1999. Lou was a music lover and an avid guitar player and builder. He also played bass, keyboard and other instruments in several bands. He also held a Black Belt in Karate. He and Sally also raised and sold Clydesdale Horses for 10 years.
Surviving are his wife Sally; mother: Dorothy Kurtz; daughter: Lisa (Joe) Halvarson of Mt. Morris, MI; son: Thomas (Carrie) Rogner of Luzerne; brother: Gary Lee (Judy) Rogner of Clio; 4 grandchildren: Hillary and Holly Halvarson, Brandon and Katie Rogner; father & mother in law: Lennae & Esther Bennett and brothers & sisters in laws: Jerry and Al Bennett, Beth Knox, Peggy LaCroix, Terry Daenzer and Janet Peera.
Lou was preceded in death by his father Norman W. Rogner.
Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association.
