Neil Granger

Mr. Neil Lee Granger, age 94 of Fairview, formerly of Mio, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community.
Neil was born on September 20, 1917 in Dowling, Michigan to Frank and Ethel (Lee) Granger.  He married Kathryn on April 8, 1945 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  They moved to Red Oak in 1959, where they owned and operated Parmalee Store from 1959-1971.  They also owned Granger Forest Products, a logging company, where he returned to his lifelong love of the woods and nature, until retiring in 1980.  Neil enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards, NASCAR, and working on his computer.
Neil is survived by his daughter:  Sharon (Arnold) Wyckoff of Mio, MI ; his son Robert (Charlene) Keller of Hastings, MI; his stepson Ronald (Carol) Hathaway of Houston, TX and many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Kathryn Granger in 2011; and his son Frank Granger.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.  Interment of ashes will take place at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
