Nancy A. Miller, age 84 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Friday, March 18, 2022.
Nancy was born in Sturgis, Michigan on July 3, 1937 to Clyde and Laura (Loetz) Pippitt. She graduated from Mendon High School in 1955, then attended Michigan State University, graduating in 1959. She completed her Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University. Nancy taught at Briton/Macon School, where she met Robert Miller. Nancy and Bob were married in 1963 in Sturgis, Michigan. The couple settled in Mio in 1964, where Nancy worked as a counselor for Mio AuSable Schools until she retired in 1989. Nancy was a member of MEA throughout her career. She was active with the Mio AuSable Athletic Boosters; served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Nor’Easter Festival; and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose. Nancy was an avid Mio AuSable Football fan, loved all types of music (especially folk music), and had a great love for animals and pets.
Nancy is survived by her husband Robert of Mio, MI; her daughter Dori Taylor, also of Mio, MI; her sister Jane Campbell of Constantine, MI; 4 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons, 2 nieces and nephews, 6 beloved cats, and 1 dog. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Edith Richards.
In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date with interment of ashes at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
Memorial donations may be made to Mio AuSable Athletic Boosters, Ogemaw County Humane Society or to Hospice Compassus.
