Mona "Jeanne" Troyer Lee, 86, of Mio passed away peacefully on November 11, 2019.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, John "Skip" Lee; her parents, Elmer and Hilda Troyer; siblings, Harold "Skip" Troyer and Rodney Troyer. She is survived by her two children, John (Lauri) Lee of Boyne City, MI and Joeli (David) Ballard, of Mio, MI. Jeanne also leaves her grandchildren: Christina (Kevin) Tappan, Peter-John (Katie) Kolvoord, Maureen "Cassie" (Charlie) Packard, Candace (Tommy) Rew, and Stephanie (Matt) Van De Car and great-grandchildren: Cole, Noah, Jude, Lucianna, Joshua, Baby P. and Baby K. Extended family includes: Andy and Amy Ballard (Drew, Aly and Adam) along with Dustin and Laura Ballard (Alyssa). Her surviving siblings are Joanne Miller, Julie Hershberger and Mert Troyer. Many other relatives survive her and count her as family; both by blood and by love.
Jeanne was born in Fairview, Michigan on May 19th 1933. She enjoyed sewing and traveled around the state as part of the 4-H program. As a young adult, she left Fairview for the big city of Lansing; where she worked at WJIM-TV. While in Lansing, she connected with a hometown boy, Skip Lee. They were married Aug. 19th, 1958.
Jeanne continued for many years as a stay at home mom; providing a wonderful life for her family, toting them to athletic and music practices and being involved in the church. She and Skip attended sporting events regularly supporting their children and grandchildren, and of course, the Mio team.
As her children grew, she became the secretary at the Mio Church of God until she and Skip both retired. Then it was off to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. Summers were spent at "The Cabin" in Wawa, catching fish and putting puzzles together. The last few years has seen declined health and slowed her activities.
Jeanne was loved by many and she will be greatly missed.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday December 1, 2019 at the Tri Point Church of God, Mio, Michigan at 3 PM. The family will receive guests from 2 PM until the time of services.
