Miriam Stoloque - Handrich

Miriam Stoloque-Handrich, age 56 of Gaylord, Michigan, formerly of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at her home on Friday, December 20, 2019.

Miriam was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on December 22, 1962 to Peter and Viera Stoloque. She moved to Chicago when she was 3. Miriam attended Hesston College in Kansas where she met Michael Handrich. They married in 1983, and the couple moved to Fairview, MI, where Miriam worked for Handrich Farm Supply. She also taught for Kirtland Community College as a Spanish Bilingual Teacher. She was a member of the Republican Tea Party and also did volunteer work. Miriam moved to Lewiston, and settled in Gaylord, MI in 2016. She converted to the Catholic Faith and was baptized. She worked for the Diocese of Gaylord in the Tribunal Office. Miriam enjoyed scrapbooking, being a Grandma, cooking, and living her new faith.

Miriam is survived by her mother Viera Stoloque of Argentina; her daughters: Nisha Handrich (CJ Ellis-Handrich) and Nicalla Handrich; her sister Claudia (Steve) Horcher of Wheeling, IL; her grandson John Mosher III; and her former husband Michael Handrich. She was preceded in death by her father Peter Stoloque.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 10 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, Michigan by Fr. Santiago Hoyumpa. Interment of ashes will follow the Mass at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
