Miriam Ruth Gascho

Miriam Ruth Gascho, age 83 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her sleep at West Branch Regional Medical Center on Thursday, July 30, 2015.
Miriam was born in Fairview, Michigan on May 1, 1932 to Otis and Nora (Miller) Bontrager. She was a lifetime member of the Fairview Mennonite Church and served faithfully in many ways. Miriam had taught Bible School, served as kitchen coordinator, and was church treasurer for 21 years. She was also an Avon Lady for 21 years, plus being a wonderful wife and great homemaker for her family. Miriam is survived by her husband, Mahlon, who she married on July 18, 1951. They had recently celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary with friends and family. Also surviving her are her children: Jim (Jackie) Gascho of Saginaw, MI; Marlys (Robert) Lipe of West Columbia, SC; Lon (Glennda) Gascho of Grand Rapids, MI; and Shane (Deb) Gascho of Mt. Pleasant, MI; her grandchildren: Nicole (Jake) Heilig, Jeff Gascho, Luke Gascho, and Jake Gascho; her brothers: Willard (Millie) Bontrager and Dr. Warren (Ruby) Bontrager; and many nephews & nieces and great-nephews & nieces. Miriam was preceded in death by her twin sons Todd & Scott, her parents, her brother Delbert, and her sister Anna.
Visitation on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan; and again from 9 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 10 AM, on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, MI, with Pastor David Price and Virgil Hershberger officiating. Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, MI.
